The equipment I use to look ridiculous, loose weight, keep the head straight, etc., etc.:
- Surly Ogre, XL, with a Jones H bar, triple crank, climbing cassette, Surly Front Rack, Topeak Rear Rack, there are heavy duty bolts that support the rear rack and provide the attachment points for the BOB trailer yoke.
- Surly Traveler’s Check, 60cm, with touring setup. Surly 4130 CroMoly steel. Main triangle double-butted. TIG-welded. (Discontinued by Surly) This bike was involved in a bicycle v. pickup truck encounter on the Lake Norman Excursion. Bike was totaled, I was hurt but not injured, yes there is a difference. The bike was repaired by a very clever steel-fab shop but was never the same, the couplers never lined up just right.
- Trek 1500, 60cm, Aluminum frame, Shimano 105 drivetrain, Crank Brothers Candy Pedals. This has been stripped and powder coated gloss black, an I added a chrome Tange cromoly fork. Looks sharp. No longer used, still have the frame.
- 1984 Fugi Lugged Road Frame set up as a Single Speed. 50t/16t drive train, 700c/25mm Michelin City Tires, Jae Chong Bullhorn racing bars.
